Russian newest unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) “Orion” can be equipped with a satellite terminal that will allow controlling it from anywhere in the world, as reported by the General Director of the manufacturing company JSC “Kronstadt” Sergey Bogatikov.

“At the request of a customer, it is possible to install a satellite terminal on this UAV, which will allow you to control the device and receive information from it from anywhere in the world. Now the Orion-E drone can be controlled via a radio channel at a range of 250 km,” Bogatikov specified.
According to the Russian Organization for the Export of Military Products (Rosoboronexport), the drone is currently offered for export in reconnaissance and strike version and with a satellite communication system (SATCOM). At the same time, the Russian Armed Forces receive it in a strike version as well.
