Russian Military Climbers Conquered Elbrus

Mountain training instructors of the Russian Armed Forces made a three-day ascent to Elbrus, which became the final stage of a special ski training camp, TASS reports with reference to the press service of the Southern Military District. 

It is specified that more than 150 servicemen from all military districts of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, as well as cadets of the Military Institute of Physical Culture, took part in a special training camp at the sports centre. It is noted that the ascent to the highest point in the country took them three days. During it, the servicemen trained the techniques of skiing on snow and ice using special equipment, as well as methods of climbing the slopes and downhill descent.
