The Russian national bandy team was not allowed to participate in the 2023 World Championship. This is reported on the website of the International Bandy Federation (FIB).

Russian athletes, the current champions of the planet, were suspended from the tournament, which will be held in Sweden in the spring. It is noted that the decision was made due to the current geopolitical situation.
In March, Russia lost the right to host the World Bandy Championship in 2022. The tournament was originally scheduled to take place in Syktyvkar in 2021, but was postponed due to the pandemic.
At the end of February, many sports organizations, on the recommendation of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), banned the national teams of Russia and Belarus from participating in tournaments. In some disciplines, such as motorsport, cycling, tennis, and chess, Russians continue to perform in a neutral status.
