According to the Federal Statistics Service (Rosstat), 365 thousand passenger cars were produced in Russia in three months of 2021, which is 13.2 per cent more than in the same period last year. In particular, 146 thousand cars were produced in March 2021, which is 32.3 per cent more than a year earlier, the Autostat analytical agency reports.
The production of trucks in January-March amounted to 38.5 thousand cars, which is 41.9 per cent more than in the same period last year. Last month, 17.6 thousand trucks rolled off Russian conveyors, which is 34.3 per cent more than a year earlier. It should also be noted that the St. Petersburg plant “Toyota Motor” has begun production of the updated Toyota Camry business sedan.
In addition, KAMAZ increased the production of its cars by 22 per cent in March of this year, having produced 4,247 vehicle sets. Also, the assembly of the Citroen Berlingo Multispace compact van has started at the PSMA Rus enterprise in Kaluga. The Ulyanovsk plant “Isuzu Rus” has begun production of a new low-tonnage chassis Isuzu Elf 8.0. Finally, the Kaliningrad Avtotor has mastered the production of Hyundai HD78 commercial vehicles with a gas engine power plant.
