Russian volume of gasoline and diesel fuel reserves for the first time in two years reached a record level, as stated in the protocol of the exchange committee of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS), TASS reports.
It is noted that the committee, whose task is to monitor the domestic fuel market, meets weekly. During the committee meeting, the situation is assessed as of the week from May 26 to June 2, 2021. The members of the committee, which includes not only representatives of the FAS, but also the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and oil companies, noted that they had increased their plans for the sale of petroleum products in June compared to May.
In addition, at the beginning of June, there was a high level of petrol and diesel fuel stocks, exceeding the indicators of 2020 and 2019. It is specified that at this level it is enough to meet the demand, but no volumes of current stocks are indicated. However, according to the Central Dispatch Office of the Fuel and Energy Complex, as of May 31, 2021, the remains of petrol fuel in Russia amounted to 1.64 million tonnes, and diesel fuel to 2.74 million tonnes.
