According to the results of 2021, Russian President, Vladimir Putin, topped the rating of mentions in the Russian media. His press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, and Russian Prime Minister, Mikhail Mishustin, also entered the top three, according to the data provided by the Medialogia company.
As explained, the media index is an indicator of the qualitative state of the information field formed by the media around a person. The greater the value of the media index, the more vividly and positively the presence of a person in the media and the more positive his/her image created by the media.
The rating is based on the Russian media’s database that includes more than 70 thousand sources such as TV, radio, newspapers, magazines, news agencies, and online media. The study covers a period from January 1 to December 12, 2021. So, according to the data presented, Putin’s media index amounted to 32.7 million, Peskov’s to 7.3 million, and Mishustin’s to 5.5 million.
Also, Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Maria Zakharova, Russian Defence Minister, Sergei Shoigu, Russian Health Minister, Mikhail Murashko, Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Tatyana Golikova, Moscow Mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, and St. Petersburg Governor, Alexander Beglov, are also in the top ten of the rating.
Among the top 50 of the rating are also the Head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, director of the N. F. Gamaleya Centre, Alexander Gintsburg, representatives of the sports sector Artem Dzyuba, Daniil Medvedev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, as well as the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin. In addition, Russian pop singers, Olga Buzova and Alla Pugacheva, are also mentioned in the list.
