The Federal Quality Control System (Roskachestvo) experts spoke about the rules for labelling packaged drinking water. The rules come into force from July 1, 2020.
It is noted that labelling should contain information on the name of drinking water, its origin and method of its treatment. It is illegal to use geographical indications in a product name, except the name of the territory, the natural conditions of which determine the properties of water. For the production of drinking water for baby food, only mineral natural drinking water should be used. It is also specified that in the marking of natural mineral water, there should be a well number indicating the field or the name of a source.
