Russian Quality Experts (Roskachestvo) conducted a study of jeans of 7 brands that were tested for strength, colorfastness, and shrinkage after washing.
To evaluate things for strength, experts specially stretched them and determined the breaking load of each brand. This test was passed successfully by Tvoe (Bangladesh), Baon (China), Gloria Jeans (Russia), Zara (Turkey), H&M (Bangladesh), Levi’s (Poland), Love Republic (China). According to the results of the study, all jeans are non-toxic and meet the standards of hygiene, which determines the ability of the material to absorb moisture.
In the course of the study, it turned out that the labeling of H&M and Baon jeans indicated an unreliable composition. H&M manufacturer claimed the composition was 82% cotton, 17% polyester, and 1% elastane, while in fact, there is 75.8% cotton, 20% polyester, and 4.2% polyurethane yarns (with tolerances of 5%). Manufacturer Baon indicated that the fabric is 95% cotton and 5% elastane, while in fact, there is only 66.2% cotton, 30.8% of polyester, and 3% of polyurethane threads.
