Russian Railways Sent 300 Additional Trains for Christmas

During the Christmas holidays, from January 6 to January 8, about 300 additional long-distance trains were launched in Russia on the most popular routes. This was reported on January 6 in the press service of the Russian Railways holding (RZhD). 

“From January 6 to January 8, about 1 million Russians will use long-distance trains. Almost 300 additional trains will run these days,” TASS quotes the message.

It is noted that these dates will be the second peak period for rail travel during the New Year holidays. Among the most popular routes are trips between Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as trips from the Russian capital to Adler, Anapa, Kazan, and Novorossiysk.

On January 2, Russian Railways reported that 75 thousand passengers met the New Year on trains. The chiefs of the trains congratulated the travelers on the speakerphone, prepared a festive menu for them in the dining cars, and children received gifts.
