A new cancer treatment technology has been developed in Russia, from which healthy cells do not die, the Sistema-Biotech company told RIA Novosti.
“Targeted therapy is called spot treatment of malignant tumors. It is considered to be more effective and sparing for the body than, for example, chemotherapy, when healthy cells can suffer from the destruction of cancer cells,” the company explained.
The new technology is based on a method for producing molecules that are able to detect and target pathological proteins involved in the development of cancer and atherosclerosis. The molecules have already confirmed their effectiveness in experiments on cells.
“The molecules developed with the help of technology actually act as a ‘bridge’ directing the pathological protein into lysosomes for its destruction,” explained Artem Sirazutdinov, CEO of Sistema-Biotech.
As specified, the company is currently patenting its development.
