Konstantin Bronzit is a Russian animator, screenwriter, director of animated films. He is a laureate of numerous international awards, two-time nominee for the Oscar in the category “Best Animated Short Film”. Bronzit has also created the famous cartoon “Alyosha Popovich and Tugarin the Serpent”.
The picture “Dylda” (“Lanky Girl”) by the Russian director Kantemir Balagov got into the shortlist of applicants for the Oscar in the category “Best Foreign Feature Film”. The movie “Dylda” tells the story of two young women who were front-line soldiers and returned to Leningrad after the war. They are trying to start a peaceful life again.
The film is the second tape of Balagov after the debut picture “Tightness”. The world premiere took place in the official competition at the 72nd Cannes International Film Festival, where the film received two awards – the prize for best director and the prize of the International Federation of Film Presses (FIPRESCI) “For the incredible aesthetics of film language and a unique story about post-war injury”.
