Russian Small Business Concluded Contracts for 880 Billion Rubles

More than 50 thousand Russian small and medium-sized businesses signed contracts with major customers totalling 880 billion rubles in the first three and a half months of 2021, which is 12 per cent more than in the same period last year, TASS reports with reference to the press service of the MSP corporation (Small and Medium Enterprises). The average cost of a contract was 8.1 million rubles and the total number of contracts exceeded 100 thousand. 

Products purchased from small and medium-sized businesses were put to the rating as follows: manufacturing sector (64.8 per cent), mass sector (23.4 per cent), and high-tech sector (11.8 per cent). The experts noted a tendency of growth in purchases of machinery and equipment (by 1.2 per cent), services in the field of architecture and engineering and technical design (by 1.4 per cent).

It is also specified that as part of the national project to support entrepreneurship, the volume of purchases from SMEs by the end of 2021 should reach 3.8 trillion rubles, and in the future, until 2024 it should reach 5 trillion rubles. It is mentioned that the national project involves the creation of an integrated system of acceleration of SMEs, including by providing access to purchases of the largest customers.
