The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia intends to determine the conditions for issuing diplomas to university students in electronic format by 2022, TASS reports with reference to the ministry’s press service.
The ministry noted that the conditions for issuing documents on education and qualifications in digital form, the procedure for archiving documents on education, state information systems for the implementation of super service, on the basis of which it is planned to form and store electronic diplomas, will be determined by by-laws.
It is noted that the launch of super services in Russia is envisaged by the “Digital Economy” national project. At a meeting with members of the Russian government on January 13, 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted the convenience of super service on the public services portal and instructed to actively develop their functionality. The Ministry of Education and Science is confident that all of the above will allow students in the future to receive documents on education and qualifications in a digital form.
