Russian Swimmer Took Gold in Short Course Swimming of European Championships

Russian athlete, Kliment Kolesnikov, won the gold medal at a distance of 50 metres on the back in the 2021 European Short Course Swimming Championships held at the Kazan Palace of Water Sports. The competitions are being held from November 2 to 7, 2021.

As specified, the 21-year-old Kolesnikov covered the distance in 22.47 seconds, setting a new record for the European Championships. The second place occupied the Italian, Michele Lamberti (+0.18) and the Romanian representative, Robert Glinta, took the third place (+0.27).

It is noted that Kolesnikov won the gold medal of the European Championships for the 11th time. He has also won silver and bronze medals at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, as well as silver and two bronze medals at the World Championships. In addition, the Russian is a six-time European champion and two-times world champion in short course swimming.

In the medal standings of the European Championship, the Russian national team takes first place, having won two gold, one silver, and two bronze medals. The Netherlands team is on the second line (2-1-0) and the Italians are third (1-4-1).
