Russian synchronized swimmers, Svetlana Romashina and Svetlana Kolesnichenko, won the duet competition at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo with a score of 195.9079 points. The Chinese synchronized swimmers showed a result of 192.4499 points, and the Ukrainian athletes took bronze medals (189.4620 points).

It is noted that the Russian athletes had a hard time in this competition because the girls were forced to restart their performance in the Duet Free Routine programme due to the wrong music, Gazeta reports. The wrong music was interrupted, but it took the organizers some time to find the right track. As a result, the athletes had to get up, leave the platform and re-demonstrate part of the performance before the first immersion in the water. However, this did not become an obstacle to the Russian women who managed to show the best result and take gold in the competition.
