A team of Russian servicemen won the international stage of the ‘Sayan March’ competition of the International Army Games (ARMI-2021). The second and the third places were taken by the teams of China and Uzbekistan, TASS reports with reference to the press service of the Central Military District.
The Sayan March was held from April 14 to April 17 at the Ergaki military-sports training centre in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. There, 8 teams from Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Abkhazia, South Ossetia and the women’s team of the Russian Ministry of Defence competed in their skills.
As part of the competition, the servicemen conducted a two-day 50-kilometre ski march with 12 special tasks, among which is overcoming ups and downs using ski and mountaineering equipment, orienteering in mountainous terrain and reconnaissance of targets, shooting from small arms, transporting an injured person from a hard-to-reach area, and others.
