Russian Tennis Player Reached ‘Australian Open’ Semifinals

Russian tennis player, Aslan Karatsev, defeated Bulgarian player, Grigor Dimitrov, in the quarterfinals of the ‘Australian Open’, the season’s first Grand Slam tournament.

It is noted that the match ended with a score of 2:6, 6:4, 6:1, 6:2 in favour of the Russian athlete. It is also specified that at the end of the second set, Dimitrov was injured, and before the start of the fourth, he took a medical time-out. In the semifinals, the Russian player will face the winner of the match between Serbia and Germany.

The tournament will end on February 21, 2021. The current champion is Serb Novak Djokovic. The total prize pool of the tournament is $61 million. It is mentioned that Russian athlete Karatsev plays for the first time in the main draw of the series tournament.
