Russian Tourist Cashback Programme to Be Extended

Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to extend the tourist cashback programme until the end of the year, RIA Novosti reports with reference to a document published on the Kremlin’s official website.

It is assumed that during the summer holidays, Russians who have bought vouchers to sanatoriums will be reimbursed half the cost of a paid tour for children. Reimbursement will also be valid for recreation in children’s camps. It is clarified that part of the travel cost can also be reimbursed to the finalists and winners of Olympiads, competitions, volunteer and creative initiatives. In particular, to the children who took part in the events held by the NGO “Russia – Land of Opportunity”.

It is reminded that Russia is currently undergoing the third stage of the programme to support domestic tourism with a partial refund. It started on March 17-18, when people got an opportunity to buy trips with cashback. Thus, country residents can get trips until June 15, and then go on a trip until June 30. It is specified that the duration of a tour or hotel stay must be at least two nights, the refund amount is 20 per cent of the cost of a tour but not more than 20 thousand rubles. Cashback is credited only for trips paid with a Mir card.
