The quota of the Russian government for admission of Belarusian students to Russian universities will double this year, RIA News reports with reference to the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Valery Falkov.
Falkov noted that Belarusian applicants for admission to Russian universities have the same rights as citizens of Russia. They can enter any university in the country on a general basis by passing the Unified State Exam. According to him, several thousand people from Belarus do this every year.
Also, according to the information provided by the minister, Russia gives quotas for Belarusian students to budget places every year. This means the right to study free of charge. This year there will be 700 such places, which is already twice as many as in previous years.
