Russian Woman Won Mrs. Universe Contest

This year’s event was held in Sofia from January 30 to February 5. The title was won by 34-year-old resident of Udmurtia Elena Maksimova.

“It is a great honor for me to represent the country at such a serious competition, and I am very glad that I am returning with a victory. It is especially pleasant to be the first participant who brought victory to Russia,” the agency quotes the contestant as saying.

The 34-year-old Maximova was born in the village of Gyya in the Udmurt Republic. Now she lives in Izhevsk, where she runs a network of language centers. In 2021, she became the “Second Vice-Mrs. Russia-Universe”.

The International beauty contest has been held since 2007, it is organized by the Bulgarian company Mrs. Universe LTD. Married, divorced or widowed women between the ages of 18 and 55 can participate in it. A total of 120 women, including participants from China, Japan, India, Belarus, Ukraine, Germany, and the USA, made it to the final of “Mrs. Universe 2022”.

Last year, Anna Kudryavtseva-Siradze, a native of St. Petersburg, won the contest; she competed for Georgia, since Russia was represented by another contestant, Irina Ryaguzova from Omsk, who received the title of “First Vice-Mrs. Universe”.
