During the self-isolation regime, the Wushu Federation of Russia holds the Russian Wushu Championship in an online format, the press service of the Federal Centre for Sports Reserve Training reported.
The Russian Wushu Championship started on May 15 and lasted 6 days during which 542 athletes from 37 subjects of the Russian Federation took part in the competition, among which are members of the main Russian Wushu team, winners and medalists of the World and European Championships, namely Sandra Konstantinova, Tatiana Ivshina, Ivan Krasnobaev, Daria Gerasimova, Artem Zagibalov, and Artem Altyshev.
Each athlete sends a video of his Wushu performance, after which judges give him grades through an interactive electronic programme. The final mark, which determines the result, is set by a senior judge. Competitions serve as qualifiers for the European Wushu Championships, which will be held online from May 25 to June 5, 2020, and can be watched on the competitions’ FB-Page.
