In March 2021, the volume of the Russian market for used premium cars amounted to almost 47 thousand, which is 11 per cent more than in March 2020, the Autostat analytical agency reports.
Mercedes-Benz remains the leader among premium brands on the used car market, accounting for 25 per cent of total sales. In quantitative terms, this is 11.9 thousand pieces, which is 12 per cent more than a year ago. In the second place is BMW with 11.4 thousand purchased used cars (+11 per cent). In the third place is Audi (8.1 thousand sold cars; +9 per cent).
Next in the ranking are Lexus (4.6 thousand cars; +10 per cent) and Land Rover (2.8 thousand cars; +11 per cent). Volvo also managed to cross the threshold of 2,000 cars (2.7 thousand cars; +7 per cent). It is specified that all the top leaders showed positive dynamics of sales.
The most popular model on the secondary market among premium cars at the end of March 2021 was the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, which was purchased in the amount of 2.8 thousand cars. The second position in the rating was taken by the BMW 5-Series (2.7 thousand cars) and the BMW X5 crossover (2.2 thousand cars) closed the top three.
In addition, at the end of the Q1 of 2021, the dynamics also showed positive results. Thus, 124.5 thousand used cars were resold in the premium segment, which is 6 per cent more than in January-March 2020.
