Russians Became Main Buyers of Turkish Housing

From January to May 2022, Russians purchased more than 3.9 thousand real estate objects in Turkey, becoming the main buyers of housing in the resort country, according to the data of the Kalinka Group luxury real estate agency. 

The data shows that Russians accounted for 15 per cent of foreign buyers in Turkey. The second place was taken by Iranian citizens with a share of 14 per cent. The top 3 was closed by buyers from Iraq, which accounted for 12 per cent of transactions. The fourth place was shared by citizens of Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Germany, Ukraine, and Yemen with shares of 4 per cent each.

It is noted that in the first five months of this year, the share of real estate transactions in Turkey by foreigners reached 5 per cent, so over the year, the indicator increased by 15 per cent, reaching a maximum over the past 5 years. By the end of May, they had bought more than 27 thousand objects in the country.

Earlier, the status of Russians was confirmed by the Turk.Estate experts. According to their data, since the beginning of 2022, Russian citizens have purchased 3,962 objects in Turkey, which is 36.82 per cent more than in the first five months of last year (1,459 objects). Since February, Russians have been buying more and more housing there.
