Experts of the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Centre (VTsIOM) conducted a survey among residents of the country and studied whether Russians consider themselves talented.
According to the results of the study, more than half of Russians claim that their talents are connected with their professional activities either directly (40 per cent) or indirectly (20 per cent), while 36 per cent say that there is no such connection (more often young people 18-24 years old, 46 per cent). In addition, the respondents said that everybody has a hidden talent (86 per cent), which is revealed only in work (80 per cent) or in special conditions (73 per cent).
Also, experts found that for 59 per cent of the surveyed Russians, talent is synonymous with professionalism, and more than 53 per cent of the country’s residents agree with the statement “a talented person is talented in everything”. Moreover, it turned out that Russians are surrounded by many talented people (45 per cent), as well as by those who forget about time when they work (33 per cent), do what they love on their own initiative (33 per cent), for free and for the sake of interest (22 per cent).
