Specialists of the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Centre (VTsIOM) conducted a survey of Russians dedicated to online stores and marketplaces. The results of the study showed that more than half of Russian Internet users surveyed (59 per cent) have made non-food online purchases over the past year, with the most common requests made to AliExpress, Wildberries, and Ozon.
The widest assortment, according to respondents, is presented in such online stores as AliExpress (37 per cent), Wildberries (14 per cent), and Ozon (12 per cent). The most favourable prices, from the point of view of respondents, are also in the AliExpress marketplace (38 per cent), Wildberries online stores (11 per cent), and Ozon (10 per cent).
Russian buyers believe that the biggest sales take place in AliExpress marketplaces (32 per cent), Wildberries (11 per cent) and Ozon (10 per cent). Besides, Russians are ready to recommend these marketplaces to their friends. The top 3 reasons why AliExpress is recommended include favourable prices (43 per cent), assortment (33 per cent), and easy use (20 per cent). Ozon is recommended because of fast delivery (38 per cent), favourable prices (29 per cent), and assortment (20 per cent). Finally, Wildberries is favoured because of its conveniently located pick-up points (32 per cent), delivery speed (29 per cent), and favourable prices (23 per cent).
