Russian hackers from the Killnet group announced that they hacked the website of the American military base Ramstein in Germany.
“The base broke down, something like that,” the Telegram channel We are Killnet reported.
According to the RIA Novosti correspondents in Europe, the website was really not working. When trying to open a website in Brussels, the page did not load, and after a while it gave a message that the waiting time has expired.
In Berlin, when trying to open a website, a picture with the emblem of the NATO Allied Aviation Command appeared, but the page was not active and did not contain any links or materials.
As reminded, meetings of the contact group of NATO countries and their allies in support of Ukraine are being held at Ramstein Airbase, and thus, the whole format of assistance to Kiev from its Western partners is also unofficially called so.
The air base in northern Germany is the largest stronghold of the US Air Force outside the States and their headquarters in Europe. Besides, Ramstein is one of two bases in Germany where nuclear warheads are supposedly stored. Also, the 603rd Air and Space Operations Center, located in Ramstein in 2011, coordinates and manages US drones in Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Yemen, and Pakistan.
