The volume of foreign currency deposits of Russians in the summer of 2020 began to increase after about a four-month outflow, RBC reports. In May, citizens replenished their respective deposits amid weakening self-isolation, so the amount of funds in deposits increased over the month by $721.1 million (0.8 per cent).
It was specified that on January 1, the size of deposits in Russia reached 96.54 billion dollars. As of June 1, the volume of foreign currency deposits amounted to 88.97 billion dollars. This was due to the fact that the previous four months, the Russians took the currency from banks.
