Russians Named Country’s Most Reliable Banks

Along with Sberbank, VTB, and Alfa-Bank, Russians trust most Tinkoff Bank and Gazprombank, which they included in the top list of the most reliable banks in the country. The leader of the rating, Sber, collected 64 per cent of the votes in his support, while VTB has 43 per cent, and Gazprombank, Alfa-Bank and Tinkoff Bank have received 19 per cent each.   

In addition, every tenth respondent considers the Rosselkhozbank reliable (10 per cent), 8 per cent named the Post Bank, 7 per cent Raiffeisenbank, 4 per cent Otkritie Bank and Sovcombank. Promsvyazbank and Rosbank are trusted by 3 per cent of Russians, St. Petersburg and Uralsib banks by 2 per cent. Finally, the rating also includes Credit Bank of Moscow, UniCredit Bank, Citibank, SMP Bank, Moscow Industrial Bank, RNCB, banks “Russia”, “DOM.RF”, “Ak Bars” and “Russian Standard” (1 per cent each).

Interestingly, in the course of the study, it turned out that women in Russia trust more Sber and VTB, while men trust mostly Tinkoff Bank. Besides, Sber, Alfa-Bank and Tinkoff Bank are more popular among young people under 24, while VTB and Raiffeisenbank are more popular among respondents over 45. In addition, respondents with an income of over 80 thousand rubles considered reliable VTB, Gazprombank, and Raiffeisenbank.
