Specialists of the Rabota.ru job search service conducted a study and found out in which areas it is possible to achieve leadership positions faster, in the opinion of Russians, more than 3,000 respondents of which took part in the survey from all regions of the country.
A third of the surveyed are sure that 3-5 years of work experience is enough for management. At the same time, almost every fifth respondent (19 per cent) indicated that there should be a richer experience to manage a team — from 5 to 7 years. Almost the same number of study participants (20 per cent) said that, in their opinion, specialists with experience from 1 to 3 years can also lead a team.
Also, 9 per cent of the surveyed are convinced that only experienced employees who have worked in the profession for 7-10 years are able to lead, and 11 per cent of respondents indicated that the experience should be more than 10 years. Another 8 per cent of respondents are sure that a good management can be organized by an employee with up to 1 year of experience.
The easiest way, according to the surveyed residents of Russia, is the career development in the restaurants and cafés industry (36 per cent of respondents think so). Another 32 per cent of respondents indicated that a managerial position can be quickly obtained in retail. In third place in terms of ease of career development was the IT sphere (27 per cent).
A quarter of respondents (25 per cent) believe that it is possible to become a leader faster by working in the manufacturing and industrial sectors. Slightly less (24 per cent) respondents indicated the same about the construction sector. Twenty-one per cent of the study participants noted rapid career growth in marketing, advertising and PR, as well as in banking, finance and investment.
Finally, 19 per cent of respondents are confident that they can easily achieve an increase in transport and logistics, 15 per cent of respondents mentioned the sphere of design and creativity, 13 per cent, tourism and hospitality, and 11 per cent, the security industry.
