Specialists of the OneTwoTrip trips planning service conducted a study to find out in which country Russians wish to spend their New Year vacation most. According to the results of the study, the leader of the list became Thailand, the share of bookings to where, by Russian tourists, for winter holidays reached 15 per cent. Vietnam occupied the second place, with 11 per cent of tourists choosing it as a winter destination. Kazakhstan closes the top three, with every tenth traveler going there.
Turkey and Uzbekistan are also among the five most popular destinations, where 6 to 8 per cent of independent tourists will fly. Also, 5.5 per cent of the surveyed are interested in Indonesia, and 4 per cent are keen on the UAE and Israel. Three per cent of the service’s customers plan to go to Serbia and Armenia, and two per cent to Sri Lanka and Seychelles.
A year earlier, in the same period, Turkey, Armenia, Moldova, Hungary, Georgia, Azerbaijan, the UAE, Serbia, the Czech Republic, and the Maldives were among the most popular destinations for the New Year holidays.
In addition, it turned out that during the year, the share of purchased tours abroad tripled and reached 26 per cent. In recent months, many countries have been simplifying entry rules or removing coronavirus restrictions. This makes it possible for Russians to plan trips in advance, and the tourist flow for the New Year holidays abroad is gradually increasing.
