Specialists of the Rabota.ru job search service conducted a study and found out how important is higher education for building a successful career in Russia.
According to the results of the survey, 42 percent of the respondents noted the high importance of higher education for a successful career, 22 percent rated the importance at 3 and 4 points out of 5 possible. Every tenth participant in the study indicated that having a higher education does not affect building a successful career and another 4 percent rated the importance of higher education at 2 points.
Also, as part of the study, Russians assessed the importance of refresher courses for a successful career. Thus, 7 percent of the respondents consider taking additional courses an important factor for promotion, 22 percent rated the importance of educational courses at 4 points out of 5 possible, 20 percent put 3 points, and only 6 percent of respondents indicated that additional courses are not important for career.
In addition, half of the survey participants noted that they will still try to convince their children of the importance of higher education, a quarter of the respondents are confident that their children themselves will understand its importance, another 23 percent will understand a child’s decision not to enroll in a university, and only 2 percent of the respondents would not accept such a decision of their child and would insist on his admission to a university.
