The share of Russians in the total flow of tourists to the Republic of Cyprus was the highest in August, according to the indicators of the Cyprus Statistical Service on Friday, September 17, Izvestia reports.
It is specified that in August 2021, the share of tourists from Russia was 27.2 per cent (87,427 people) of the total number of guests who arrived in the republic, which is the highest indicator among foreign tourists who visited Cyprus. In these terms, Russia is followed by the United Kingdom (22.9 per cent), Poland (7.1 per cent), Ukraine (4.6 per cent), Greece (3.9 per cent), and Germany (3.2 per cent).
In July of this year, Russians also led the number of tourists in Cyprus, forming more than one-quarter of the tourist flow — 83,926 Russian citizens arrived there, which was 28.2 per cent of the total number of tourists who filled local hotels.
The total number of tourists arriving in August reached 321,858, which is 208.7 per cent more compared to the same period in 2020, but 41.9 per cent less than in August 2019, which is the time before the pandemic.
