The specialists of the Rabota.ru job search service, together with the experts of the online assistant for the car search SberAuto, conducted a study and found out which cities the residents of Russia would go to during the May holidays, from May 1 to May 10.
The results of the study showed that 37 per cent of respondents plan to travel around Russia during the May holidays, 1 per cent of the surveyed planned a trip to another country, and 62 per cent will spend long “weekends” at home.
In addition, 21 per cent of the study participants indicated that they would travel to Moscow or the Moscow region, 16 per cent planned to go to Sochi, and 15 per cent, to St. Petersburg. Another 11 per cent of respondents plan to visit Crimea, 8 per cent of Russians will go to Kazan, and another 4 per cent would like to have a trip to Nizhny Novgorod or Kaliningrad.
It was also found out that 40 per cent of respondents plan to travel to their holiday destination by car, 23 per cent will travel to the chosen city by train, 15 per cent chose the bus, and 14 per cent will travel by plane. In the “Other” option, the respondents most often indicated that they would combine several types of transport.
