The demand for gas cars is growing every year, according to the results of a study conducted by analysts of the Drom.ru car sales announcement database, 1prime reports. The study was based on seven million ads from the year 2018 to October 2020.
Analysts have found out whether the subsidizing of 60 per cent of the costs of installing gas equipment when converting cars from gasoline to gas stimulated Russian drivers. It is stated that in 2019, the number of vehicles sold with gas equipment increased by 24.5 per cent, and in 2020 it grew by 27 per cent. Among the entire automotive base, the share of gas vehicles is 3.2 per cent.
According to the research results, gas equipment is most often installed on LADA Priora, Toyota Land Cruiser, Chevrolet Niva, LADA Granta, and UAZ Patriot. Among the regions of Russia, most of the cars on the gas drive are bought in the North Caucasus (13 per cent), the Kurgan region (10 per cent), and the Republic of Adygea (10 per cent), as well as in the Omsk and Tyumen regions (8 per cent each).
