Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his congratulations on the Day of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), sent to the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, expressed confidence in the victory by joint efforts.
This year, on May 11, residents of the DPR celebrate Republic’s Day for the first time in the status of a country recognized by Russia. The decree on the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics was signed by Putin, on February 21, 2022. Russian leader sent a telegram to the DPR head on the solemn occasion.
"Dear Denis Vladimirovich, Please accept my sincere congratulations on the occasion of the national holiday – the Day of the Donetsk People's Republic. Eight years ago, the people of the DPR made a choice in favor of state independence. Today we are fighting together to ensure that the citizens of the republic can exercise their legitimate right to a free and peaceful life in accordance with their centuries-old cultural and spiritual traditions, in friendship with fraternal Russia. I am sure that by joint efforts we will be able to overcome all difficulties and win. I sincerely wish you good health and success, and to all your fellow citizens – courage, perseverance and fortitude. Respectfully, Vladimir Putin"
