Scientists from the S. P. Korolev Samara University conducted a study on how city residents perceive female beauty. For this, they interviewed residents of Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, and Moscow aged 20 to 34. The results are published in the EurAsian Journal of BioSciences.
It turned out that most men, when communicating with a woman, first of all, pay attention to her behaviour, while the girls first perceive the others’ appearance. In addition, women, more than men, consider competent and pleasant speech to be quite important. The respondents also called an advantage the ability to use “feminine charm”.
Most of the survey participants included external data in the concept of “female beauty”. In their opinion, attractive appearance acts as a catalyst for interpersonal relationships and allows achieving a lot in various areas of life.
Less than half of the respondents agreed with the statement that beautiful women are more successful and happier, and one in five denies that this is so. In their opinion, a beautiful girl can face envy, obsessive male attention, and loneliness.
