A meeting of the ‘Russia – Islamic World’ Strategic Vision Group will be held in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday, November 24. This year’s meeting will be held under the motto “Dialogue and Prospects for Cooperation”.
It is clarified that the meeting is aimed at strengthening Russia’s relations with the Islamic world and is part of Saudi Arabia’s initiative to establish a dialogue between followers of religions and cultures. The event will be held with the broad participation of officials, scientists and thinkers from Russia and the Islamic world, who will gather to discuss common issues between the two sides and strengthen cooperation.
As noted, the ‘Russia – Islamic World’ Strategic Vision Group was established in 2006 under the leadership of Yevgeny Primakov and Mintimer Shaimiev after the Russian Federation joined the Organization of Islamic Cooperation as an observer. In 2014, by the official order of the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, the Tatarstan President, Rustam Minnikhanov, took over the leadership of the group in Russia. The Group consists of 33 well-known statesmen and public figures from 27 Muslim states. It already held meetings in Moscow, Kazan, Istanbul, Jeddah, and Kuwait since its inception.
