The “Bi.Zone” Sberbank’s cybersecurity subsidiary and the “IPA Qatar” Qatar Investment Promotion Agency have signed a memorandum of understanding during the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, under which Bi.Zone will establish a regional cybersecurity centre in Qatar, TASS reports.
It is agreed that IPA Qatar will facilitate Bi.Zone’s operations to build infrastructure in the Meeza (Qatari data centre service provider) site and recruit and train local professionals over the next five years. In addition, the Russian company will establish a regional centre of excellence in cybersecurity to serve Qatar and the Gulf region.
“Cybersecurity is one of the key priorities for digital development in the Middle East. I am confident that our cooperation with IPAQ will allow us to better understand the needs of the Qatar market and open up new opportunities for providing services and strengthening the cyber resilience of the entire region,” the Bi.Zone Director, Dmitry Samartsev, said.
