Serbia Asked Russia for Help After Gas Prices Sharp Increase

At the EU summit in Slovenia Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic, asked Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, to help him and his country in the situation of the rapid increase in gas prices.

According to Vucic, he is concerned about the energy crisis, which experts around the world are talking about and he considers this topic to be also important to the leaders of the EU. Serbia counts on Russia’s support in gas supplies next winter hoping to get it at a “favourable” price, according to the RIA Novosti Telegram channel citing the Serbian Minister for Technological Development.

The Kremlin has already responded to Vucic’s request, RIA Novosti reports. According to the press secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov, a meeting of the heads of the two states is not planned yet.
