Currently, Russia and Georgia have almost no official diplomatic relations, which was stated by the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, TASS reports.
“As for Georgia, we have almost no relations. They were, in fact, broken at the initiative of Tbilisi,” Lavrov stated.
He noted that Russia has repeatedly expressed its readiness to restore diplomatic cooperation with the Georgian side. At the same time, the Minister stressed that Russia and Georgia still have areas of mutual interests. For example, Moscow remains one of the main trading partners of Tbilisi, where it gives a flow of tourists.
“Our people like to visit Georgia, I myself love this country very much,” Lavrov noted.
