Siberian Indigenous Peoples’ Film Festival to Take Place in Novosibirsk

On April 23-24, 2021, a unique film and cartoon programme will be presented at the Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU NETI) and the City Interethnic Centre. It will be dedicated to the world of the national culture of the indigenous peoples of Siberia, the press service of the university reports.

On April 23, at the opening of the festival at NSTU NETI, a concert will be held with the participation of eminent masters of throat singing of Siberia. Then, for two days, viewers will see a series of non-stop feature films and documentaries, which will be presented by the authors. Viewers will have a unique opportunity to see original works on the screen and ask filmmakers any questions.

Also, on April 24, at 10 am, the City Interethnic Centre will host a programme that includes masterclasses from film studios, an exhibition of the cultures of the indigenous peoples of the North and Siberia, as well as a screening of cartoons by directors from the Murmansk, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, and Tomsk regions.
