Instead of mechanical counters, new smart ones will appear in the Chelyabinsk region soon. By the end of the year, it is planned to transfer more than 15,000 houses to modern equipment, chelTV reports. The smart system saves up to 30 per cent of a valuable resource and significantly eases the process of using the counters.
Previously, people had to go out into the street, rewrite meter readings, and go to the bank to transfer data. Now all these processes can be done fastly and easily. A person can control the readings remotely, and a device itself is mounted so high that only specialists could reach it.
It is noted that in the event of damage to one element, the system automatically transfers data to another one, so there is no risk of loss of readings. The system will also determine if one of the neighbors decides to illegally connect and use electricity at the expense of others but now, because of this, it will not be necessary to disconnect the entire street from the electricity as before.
