A special commission to support film production has been created in the Nizhny Novgorod region, regional Ministry of Culture reports on its Instagram-Page. The commission will help film and TV series companies select locations, obtain permits, and recruit local specialists.

It is specified that such commissions have already been opened in the Kaliningrad, Ulyanovsk, Samara, Novgorod, Irkutsk and other regions. In February 2021, the governor of the region, Gleb Nikitin, signed an agreement on cooperation in the development of television and film production. According to this document, the Nizhny Novgorod region joins the “Cinema of Russia” project.
The Chairman of the Board of the Association of Film and Television Producers, Sergey Selyanov, recalled that many Soviet films were shot in the Nizhny Novgorod region which were included in the golden fund of Russian cinema. He is confident that due to the inclusion of the region in the system of rebates, the number of new film projects will begin to grow rather quickly.
