The footballers of the St. Petersburg’s “Zenit” main team, the women’s team of the club, as well as the members of the Gazprom-Academy visited the Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery where they honoured the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War, TASS reports.

It is specified that the Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery is located in the northeast of St. Petersburg and is one of the places of mass graves of victims of the blockade of Leningrad and soldiers of the Leningrad Front. A memorial to the fallen was erected there, at the cemetery.
It is noted that “Zenit” is the current champion of Russia. On May 2, the club received the third title in a row. The women’s team ranks third in the national championship with 16 points after seven rounds. The Gazprom-Academy football players U17 and U18 became the winners of the Youth Football League and Youth Football League-2 of the 2020/2021 season.
