The real accrued wages in July 2020 increased by 2.3 per cent in annual terms, according to the Federal Statistics Service (Rosstat). In January-July, the growth in annual terms amounted to 2.9 per cent.
Nominal wages in July 2020 increased by 5.7 per cent compared to July 2019. In January-July, the indicator increased by 5.8 per cent in annual terms. The average monthly accrued wages of employees of organizations in July 2020 amounted to 49,844 rubles and increased by 5.7 per cent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
According to Rosstat, in general, the salaries of Russian large and medium-sized enterprises increased by 9.1 per cent compared to July 2019 (57,428 rubles). At the same time, in the sectors of oil, gas, coke production, courier services, and others, it decreased. This was explained by the fact that the data presented reflect the dynamics of wages of about 66 per cent of employees (43.9 million people) while in 2019, the number of employees in Russia was 66 million people.
