The real wages in Russia in May 2020 increased by one per cent in annual terms. This came after a two per cent decline in April, which follows from the report of the Federal Statistics Service (Rosstat).
It is noted that in January-May, real wages increased by 3.4 per cent compared to the same period last year. The average monthly accrued wages in May 2020 amounted to 50,747 rubles. Compared to the same period in 2019, the growth was 4% (in January-May 2020 – by 6.2%). It is also specified that the highest wages in January-May 2020 fell on several types of economic activities, including mining, transportation and storage, finance, and insurance.
