Streets for Pedestrians: Tverskaya and Mokhovaya Blocked during Celebrations

Due to New Year’s festivities in Moscow, Tverskaya and Mokhovaya streets will become pedestrian from December 31 to January 5. This was told by the deputy head of the capital’s Department of Trade and Services, Alexander Ivanov.

“Tverskaya street and Mokhovaya street will be completely blocked and divided into three zones, which will house thematic art objects and interactive installations,” he said.

Ivanov emphasized that the largest city New Year events will be held on these streets. At the time of the celebration and the implementation of installation and dismantling work, the streets of Okhotny Ryad and Tverskaya, as well as the intersections of Tverskaya with Tversky Boulevard and Mokhovaya with Teatralny Passage, will be completely blocked.

The representative of the department also recalls that in Moscow from December 13, 2019, to January 12, 2020, the festival “Journey to Christmas” will be held.
