The research centre ‘Index 14-30’ conducted a social study among working youth under the age of 31, aimed at analyzing the patterns of employment, the level of well-being, and identifying the value orientations of working youth, KazanFirst reports. According to the majority of the survey participants (51.8 per cent), the main difficulties in finding a job are low wages, the lack of vacancies of interest in the labour market (24.2 per cent), and jobs in the specialty received (23.8 per cent).
It is noted that when looking for a job, the most popular among young people are personal contacts and acquaintances, job search sites on social networks, contacting an enterprise, and connections between parents, friends, and acquaintances. It is also stated that the majority of young specialists are not going to leave for work abroad within the next 3-5 years.
According to the results of the survey, among those things that motivate Tatar youth to work in a chosen specialization is a convenient work schedule (48.8 per cent), income growth prospects (44.7 per cent), and a desire to do what they really like (38.3 per cent). In order to improve the quality of life, namely the housing issue, the youth of the republic expressed the need for assistance with obtaining a social mortgage, reducing interest rates when registering a commercial mortgage, and compensation for the costs of paying for occupied residential premises.
