Team Spirit: Russians Won International Dota 2 Championship [Video]

The players of the Russian e-sports organization ‘Team Spirit’ won the Dota 2 – The International World Championship that was held at the National Stadium in Bucharest and got the prize fund of a record $40 million.

In the grand final,  the ‘Team Spirit’ group consisting of Russians Yaroslav Naidenov (Miposhka), Magomed Khalilov (Collapse), Alexander Hertek (Torontotokyo), and Ukrainians Miroslav Kolpakov (Mira) and Ilya Mulyarchuk (Yatoro), beat the Chinese PSG LGD team, whose partner is the French football club Paris Saint-Germain, with the score of 3-2.

As specified, the winners’ team became the second team in history to win at The International having advanced to the main stage of the tournament from the regional qualification. Also, for the first time in history, two Russian teams made it into the top six at The International. Virtus Pro repeated the highest achievement, remaining on the sixth line and earning $1.4 million and Team Spirit has become the first Russian team to win the tournament and earn $18.2 million.
