Earlier, Chernikov said that the traffic police, together with the Ministry of Finance, planned to finalize the transfer of the driver’s license into electronic form by the end of the year.

“Starting from October 1 of this year, we plan to launch an electronic service for presenting a driver’s license in the mobile application ‘State Services. Auto’,” Chernikov said during the ‘Kazan Digital Week’ international forum.

According to him, it will be possible to use an electronic driver’s license from October 1, 2022, in an experimental mode. In order for the electronic document to become fully legal, the necessary amendments to the traffic regulations are being prepared as well.

Chernikov noted that all the necessary work is being done to make the service available to drivers around the country, including offline mode where there is no Internet.
